Course & Lecturer Evaluation (honest opinion).

Insights of what happened in class in my point of view. If you think what I say differs from yours, do me a favor and remind yourself that different people have different opinions.

INTRODUCTION TO INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATION

Okay so, the lecturer who taught my class was not an expert on that subject, however, she did do her homework(research about this subject) and I highly respect this. She did a good job on educating us as well as providing us with the right materials.

The educational material we mainly used was by Daya Kishan Thussu - International Communication.

As for this course, it is different from what I've learned during CFS. Our assessment in this course was assessed by quiz(of course), presentation, forum & debate. Also you have to write a review based on an article that your lecturer gives you.

INTRODUCTION TO WORLD LITERATURE.

I love literature so much. But did I love this class?

FUCK NO.

Our lecturer often cancels the class. And when we do have class, a quarter of the class session would be about her/him telling the class about her/his life and the rest would be what was actually important. In CFS, I HAD A BLAST LEARNING LITERATURE. My lecturer would make sure everyone had read the literary work and would discuss in class regarding it(Thanks Sir Gothic). In degree? It fucking sucks. No discussions, she/he has short term memory so, there was a lot of misinformation.

In this course, we were assessed by writing an article based on the literary work chosen(applying what we 'learned' in the literary work we chose), a quiz, script-writing and conduct a play/film based on it.

My group work was a disaster. The tea was so hot that it evaporated into air so there's no spilling here. But it was quite a bitter memory. (I'm being honest)

P.S: I hope this lecturer moves out elsewhere because hell will break loose within me if she/he continues to teach in my course subjects, obviously pulling the same kind of bullshit over and over again.

She/he was a good person, but would I recommend to be guided under her/his wing?

Absolutely. Fucking. No..

INTRODUCTION TO LINGUISTICS

Of course, our lecturer was not experienced, but at least he did his job well? He was nice and merciful but would I recommend? I don't think so.

The assessment? God lord. Easy to say, just buckle up your seat belts. It's not hard tho(please don't jinx me)

ENGLISH FOR ACADEMIC WRITING

Unexpectedly, I LOVE THE LECTURER WHO TAUGHT THIS SUBJECT REGARDLESS OF HAVING ME HATING TO WRITE ACADEMICALLY.

We were assigned 2 different lecturers because our supposed lecturer was not around for a whole month and the person replaced him in the meantime was marvelous. She knew what she was doing, educating us properly with the right information. LOVE HER.

The supposed lecturer that came in after WAS THE BEST, 10/10. He's very straightforward when it comes to giving feedback. If your work is garbage, he'll say it straight to your face however he helps to correct you by making sure you understand your mistakes and how to improve.

Now this lecturer, although he seems mean, let me just say, I would rather have this guy to be my lecturer than some random replacement who's kind but knows nothing about what she's/he's supposed to be educating.

Remarks? I hope he lives a long life. May Allah bless this man. Love ya' Dr. K!

THE ISLAMIC WORLDVIEW, KNOWLEDGE & CIVILIZATION

In short, I got a great, sociable, fun lecturer who carried out her duty and assessed us fairly. 10/10.

Because I couldn't take Tilawah for this semester, I took Leadership class instead.

LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT.

Did I enjoyed this class?

HELL NO.

Why?

Because instead of providing us experienced lecturers, this kuliyyah/university place provided us with some replacements WHO HAD THE TOTAL POWER TO ASSESS US HOWEVER THEY WANTED(NO RUBRIC MAY I ADD - HOW IS THAT FUCKING FAIR COMPARED TO OTHER CLASSES?)

Now the lecturer I had to deal with...was an ex-navy guy. Meaning, instead of learning what a leader should be, he educated us by role-playing positions on the ship (commander etc?). I was assessed by a curricular activity of executing and receiving morse codes to other groups. Wow, leadership right? I wouldn't have a problem IF PEOPLE ACTUALLY STILL USE MORSE CODES THESE DAYS. WHAT WE LEARNED HAD NO USE WHATSOVER AND NOBODY ACTUALLY CONTACTS THROUGH MORSE CODES MY DUDE. WTF.

In conclusion, your experience will depend on the lecturer you're assigned to and their skills.

I just ended up with:

Inexperienced lecturers BUT tried their best to educate us - 2/6
VERY GOOD LECTURERS - 2/6
An experienced lecturer but was a total nutcase - 1/6
Inexperienced and unqualified - 1/6

IN MY DEFENSE, This is an honest review.

Honestly, my university needs to understand that just by shoving extra staffs in the education circle with no experience on the base subject that they were supposed to educate us with is VERY UNFAIR, INJUSTICE AND A WASTE OF MY TIME AND MONEY.

If you don't have the right people for the right job, find them or train them.

Or better, BURN THIS CAMPUS DOWN TO ASHES BECAUSE IT WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE IN THE FIRST PLACE OR ALLOCATE US TO A SAFE, HEALTHY, CIVILIZED ENVIRONMENT.

That's all.

Paint me an ungrateful sinner
